Ton Hurks FotografieURL: http://www.tonhurksfotografie.nl Technology: Flash We initially made this website in Flash 4, but the Flash 4 code interpreter wasn't sufficient enough and too buggy for this high demanding actionscript website. After some long hours of headbreaking puzzeling on bugs which were incapabilities of Flash 4, we decided to redo the site in Flash 5. This site has a very flexible engine, needed to host the portfolio consisting of 54 items. Adding or removing a portfolio item can be done in a matter of minutes. In Flash you usually place the entire movie in one big file which then needs to be downloaded. To keep the loading times for this huge sized site as low as possible, we used a smart preloading system. This means that while you are visiting the site, our preloader will load the movie files needed, but also reacts on your actions to keep you away from long and tedious loading screens.
